Its origins are undeniably Minhotas. An intense grape variety, with everything turned up to the maximum – color, acidity, tannin, where possible weaknesses are consequences of its virtues. 

Regarding the color, the ancients used to say, ‘a red wine is good when it stains the walls of the mugs or bowls in which it is drunk.’… Nowadays, it is recognized as a grape capable of producing wines with personality and elegance.

The work began at dawn and, among vineyards and grape harvests, a mid-morning break would be taken for snacks, with bread and “pataniscas”, some chorizo and an indispensable glass of wine or bowl of Vinhão. The extended lunch, in a festive atmosphere, was the well-deserved rest after a whole morning of harvesting.
